Here is the recap of the Q/A we had today. Thank you all for turning up and I hope this answered most of your current questions. We will have more sessions like this including pictures and videos. At the end of this I also posted a video and some pictures showing progress.Enjoy.

<Nogard> We will be starting the Q&A session soon.....
<Nogard> When we start the Q&A, please send a pm to nelk with your question and he will relay them here
<Nogard> I've gotten some pm's, Yes we will *Try* to answer ALL questions.
<Nogard> Ok First off i would like to thank you all for coming

<Boomerman> is it possible to spawn items and drop them in houses yet?
<zewi> Yes

<Boomerman> Will we be able to make the no-build zone outside theed smaller? changing the lines and such?
<meanmon13> the lines are changeable
<meanmon13> you just change the spawn points of the no-build zones

<DrFeelgood> Looks like you guys have vehicles working...will post-NGE vehicles like the lava skiff and desert skiff be included ever?
<Nelk> That is client side
<Nogard> It is possible though

<[OGR]Cineo> is the resource collectors in the housing code too?
<eadthem_akip> harvesters and resources haven't been done yet but since structure placement is there that will help

<zellthemedic> OK, speaking of houses, do the non-housing places work? Such as, we can't place a house in Mos Eisley, but we can a little further out...is that coded in right now?
<meanmon13> yes thats easily done
<meanmon13> there are things the client have that you can spawn
<meanmon13> that create non-housing zones

<Bree> So how far along are you on cities?
<Lordcorm> 50%

<Bree> do you got player housing done?
<zewi> Yes,

<zellthemedic> What has been the easiest part for you to code in?
<meanmon13> Ping server

<[OGR]Cineo> how do you think you guys are doing at this time compared to the ANH/EMU/OPEN teams in terms of completion/stability?
<Lordcorm> You cant compare
<Lordcorm> in some area's we are better and in some we are not
<Valkyra> Well, see, its like this. Each team has different priorities, and different ways about going to those priorities. So you cannot compare progress.[

<Boomerman> By any chance would you um... give us an estimate on your release date?
<Valkyra> We do not have an ETA at this time, the reason being is that we could code faster or slower than planned, so it would ALWAYS fluctuate, no matter what kind of ETA we would give.

<Merde> the question was asked earlier about how close you were to getting crafting in. What about combat? the same in the works sorta shindig?
<zewi> Combat has not been started on yet.

<[OGR]Cineo> is there anything we can do as individuals or the community to help you guys along at this time?
<Lordcorm> Cineo as a community you guys could recruit more people to add to the community

<Boomerman> What kind of updates/enhancements do you plan to make after your initial release?
<zewi> It all depends on what the commuinty is looking for Boom

<Boomerman> Is there anything you plan to do differently from live or are you going to try to keep it exactly as it was?
<Valkyra> We are planning on keeping it as it was on live for the first release, then making enhancements as we go along.

<zellthemedic> Does SWGPreCU plan on hosting its own server once it goes live?
<Lordcorm> We haven't considered it yet.

<[OGR]Cineo> when will you have a public TC up for the community?
<Lordcorm> We have no official date at this time but soon

<Boomerman> What is the status of the crafting system in your emulator so far?
<zewi> We have the crafting packets, and from there we can do the rest, better way to put it its in the works

zellthemedic> Why did you guys choose Publish 14.1 instead of, say, Pub. 12?
<eadthem_akip> 14.1 has vendor search

<Alastair> Are there any linux coders currently on the dev team? If not would applications for such a position be considered?
<meanmon13> sorry we currently have no linux coders

<zellthemedic> How stable is multi-client zoning?
<Nelk> As far as how much it can hold, I had sent over 60,000 packets in under 2 seconds with no crash
<PlasmaFlow> we have never had a crash with all of the devs on one server and spamming as much as we can
<eadthem_akip> we have never had a unplanned crash that we couldn't find the source of right away new features means new crashes but nothing that we haven't worked out fast

<[OGR]Cineo> can you tell us what you have implemented right now feature wise and what you have planned to implement in the near future?
<eadthem_akip> basic housing basic inventory npc (non attack/agro) chat zone proper smooth movement and speeder walking and running
<PlasmaFlow> data pad way points and items

<Merde> When can we expect to see more videos and/or screen shots? I love updates!
<Nogard>We usually release screens when we feel it is needed, but we will be releasing a lot more after this Q&A

<[OGR]Cineo> For implementing crafting do you have to be really good with math and stuff to figure it out or are all the algorithms and equations in the packets?
<Nogard>Nope Just good with packets

<Boomerman> You mentioned that now you are working on crafting... How far along with crafting are you?
<Nogard> Boom: 30%

<Nelk> <Boomerman> do items have stats yet?
<Nogard> Boom ATM no.
<Nogard> But it is in the DB so once we put it in server they will.

*continues*

<[OGR]Cineo> any pieces of juicy info you want to tell the community that haven't been answered in a question yet?
<meanmon13> we throw partys with pizza all the time
<PlasmaFlow> Well im planning on using a dual scripting system i have used in the past in other systems / projects
<meanmon13> planet chat will be hooked up to our irc channel so everything said in the channel will be shown in game and everything said in game in planetary chat will be seen in the irc channel.
<PlasmaFlow> system one is completely gui driven and will allow you to script things in the server via a gui driven system that saves all commands in the database and execute them in the server
<Nelk> Also, we will have our own administration tool that will handle almost every aspect of the game that needs to be controlled
<eadthem_akip> the server config file is done in a step by step allowing for help with each item and the server to walk a server admin through the setup of the servers settings
<Nelk> It will handle DB administration, in game management
<PlasmaFlow> system 2 will allow more saavy programmers to script all new game system in c++
<Nelk> It has its own GUI, and there will be NO in game commands
<Nelk> It will support remote administration

<Boomerman> will the static spawns from live be in the exact same locations as live? or will you have to create your own...
<Nelk> We will try to make it as close the the game as possible

<Boomerman> Will it be possible to put a starport in a city that isn't already there?
<Nelk> Yes

<zellthemedic> Do you have a pic of your city?
<zellthemedic> And what planet is it on?
<Nelk> it is on naboo
<meanmon13> The city will be half on land half over water

<Boomerman> You mean do say you can walk underwater?
<meanmon13> no
<meanmon13> there will be platforms layed out over the water's surface
<meanmon13> think endor

<Boomerman> Can you tell us a little about the CSR format and how things work... spawning items, fixing people, correct bugged item stats, etc. I've always wondered how that worked
<Nelk> We will handle administration through the admin gui I mentioned earlier
<Nelk> It will allow many features, and how we have it setup allows for greater control than through in game methods

<[CoV]Moal> what sort of ways are you cooperating with ANH?
<meanmon13> in many many ways
<meanmon13> they fully support us
<meanmon13> as most of you prob. know I'm a reverser for ANH so of course we help each other out a great deal

<Boomerman> How much of what you have done was completed before you started... (was already in CoreZ). in other words, all the progress we see. was this all really done in 1 month?
<Nogard> Yes
<meanmon13> this is how quickly we move
<eadthem_akip> its not built uptop revz

<Venc> How far along is Pre-Cu with entertainers?
<Nogard> Were almost 80% done

<Boomerman> Do creature mounts work yet?
<Nelk> yes
<meanmon13> I'm going to make Creature handler work too

<Venc>Can entertainers acquire xp and train in their boxes at the moment?
<Nelk> no, not yet

<zellthemedic> Also, what about player-player training? Such as, teaching another player a language and such...is that completed?
<Nelk> in the works

<Boomerman> Would it be possible to mount say... a rancor? or tame a krayt dragon?
<meanmon13> tame a krayt dragon, yes
<meanmon13> mount a rancor, no

<Venc> Is travel (shuttle ports/star ports) implemented or being worked on?
<Nogard> Implemented.

<[CoV]Moal> if you and ANH are cooperating so much, why are you not one team?
<meanmon13> ANH has a very robust structure and very defined job roles
<meanmon13> they have professional coders
<meanmon13> working on their core
<meanmon13> We can cooperate and help each other move along faster
<meanmon13> but our code if very different

<zellthemedic> What do you think is the most stable thing in your emu right now?
<meanmon13> The netcode

<Shade> Have you started working on anything related to CH, Ranger, or Scout?
<Nogard> Ch yea..
<meanmon13> i'm working on ch
<meanmon13> swoops if a result of the first steps of Creature handler

<Boomerman> would it be possible to put merchant tents in the theed starport where the ships are?
and have them buyable from a NPC there and have them transferable or something. with like a max of 40 of them
<Nelk> It is a server admin thing again

<[CoV]Moal> if ANH gets a really nice core, stable, all features in and so on, before you've finished, will you stop developing SWGprecu?
<Nogard> heck No!

<Venc> Are guilds being worked on at all?
<zewi> Guilds no not right now but easy to do...*points to Meanmon*
<meanmon13> Guilds are something i did for ANH

<Nanoviper> what is the next step for the emu team???
<eadthem_akip> crafting
<Lordcorm> Crafting
<zewi> Craftin.. meaning ALL crafting.
<zewi> Crafting
<meanmon13> and Creature handler
